Frequently asked questions.

How much money do I need for flying lessons?

The total for our Zero to CFI Program is $65,000-75,000 depending path chosen.

Not all clients are bound for an airline career. Others may simply be working on one certificate at a time. We can help in either situation.

Private Pilot Certificate

Approximately $12,500

The private pilot course covers the basics of flight, allowing you to fly for fun or travel. Whether you prefer personalized training at your own pace or an accelerated course, Above It All Aviation provides experienced instructors to guide you through the process.

FAA Minimum time is 40 hours of flight time. Although achievable, many students need more than 40 hours. The cost at 40 hours would be a little over $10,000. We try to give our students a more accurate estimate than other schools.

Accelerated students usually spend 10 hours less time and come closer to the minimum FAA times. Thats over $2500 saved by choosing Accelerated Training.

Duration: 1- 3 months

Instrument Rating

Approximately $11,500

The Instrument Rating course teaches you how to fly like a professional in all weather conditions. You can choose between part-time or accelerated options to fit your schedule and achieve your aviation goals.

The cost can vary. Using a safety pilot in lieu of a CFI can save money. Opting to get it done more quickly with an Instructor (Accelerated) may increase cost but will decrease the amount of time needed to become Instrument Rated.

Duration: 1-3 months

Commercial Pilot Certificate

Approximately
$25,000 – $38,000
